Washington Commanders at Kansas City Chiefs preview
Any hope the 3-4 Washington Commanders might have had of upsetting Kansas City Chiefs on Monday night looks to have disappeared with the news that they won’t have their starting quarterback Jayden Daniels.
There has been some good news for the road team, with wide receivers Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel set to return from injury, but Daniels’ hamstring injury means Marcus Mariota will make his third start of the season.
The Chiefs had a tough start to the campaign, losing their first two matches, but the AFC champions have looked back to their best in recent weeks, with wide receiver Rashee Rice the latest star to return to the team after missing the first six weeks through suspension.
The Chiefs outgained the Raiders by an astonishing 434-95 total yards in last week’s 31-0 win, earning 30 first downs while Las Vegas managed just three.
The Commanders also beat the Raiders in one of Mariota’s earlier starts but this is a much more difficult test and they have lost their last two games including a 44-22 defeat in Dallas last week. This should be a comfortable success for the Chiefs against a side who are 1-3 on the road.
