Giants RB Cam Skattebo undergoes surgery on dislocated ankle suffered in loss vs. Eagles

Skattebo sustained the injury when he was brought to the ground awkwardly by Eagles linebacker Zack Baun on a catch attempt, causing his foot to stick in the grass at Lincoln Financial Field and bend awkwardly underneath him. His teammates rightfully looked distraught as he was carted off the field with an air cast on his right leg. He was ruled out shortly before halftime.
“I feel absolutely terrible for the young man,” Daboll said postgame. “Obviously, saw it. Looked bad. You feel for anybody on your team that goes down and has a really bad injury. I feel and I know the players feel the same way about Skatt.”
The rookie RB had 12 rushing yards, 18 receiving yards and a touchdown reception, and New York was trailing, 14-7, at the time of his departure. Tyrone Tracy Jr. (12 touches) Devin Singletary (three touches) combined to fill in for Skattebo, contributing 81 total yards as the Eagles pulled away throughout the second half.
