Gloria and Emilio Estefan’s daughter’s partner was arrested in an altercation over a cellphone Tuesday evening, TMZ first reported.

According to a police report from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office obtained by Miami.com, Gemeny Hernandez was taken into custody around 5:30 p.m. from location near South Miami, with the zip code 33143.

As per the affidavit, though the victim is not named, she is referred to as Hernandez’s “partner of eight years.”

Hernandez and Estefan, 30, went Instagram official in 2017, making a number of public appearances together and going on to host the “In Our Own World” podcast. Their relationship was a topic of discussion on a “Red Table Talk” episode back in 2020.

As per the complaint, the two women got into a physical confrontation over the victim’s phone, with both of them ending up wrestling on the ground.

The victim stated the defendant “forcefully” took her phone from her hand and then, after she got it back, snatched it from the pocket of her shorts. She sustained “minor injuries in the form of a “contusion to her left eye and scratches on the right side of her neck,” reads the report that adds “once the parties were separated” the victim was able to call 911.

The 31-year-old musician was charged with felony strong-arm robbery and misdemeanor battery and transported to Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center (TGK).

Post Miranda, the defendant denied taking the phone from the victim directly, but “admitted her involvement in the physical altercation.”

As per inmate records, the suspect was released hours later on $3,000 bond.

The Estefans did not immediately respond to a request for comment Wednesday afternoon.
