Mumford and Sons have announced a new album.
‘Prizefighter’ is due for release on February 13, and is a prompt follow-up to their latest LP ‘Rushmere’, which came out in March. The London band co-produced it with Aaron Dessner of The National.
The record will feature their recently released Hozier collaboration Rubber Band Man, as well as tracks with Chris Stapleton, Gigi Perez, and Gracie Abrams, who they recently covered during their session in Radio 1’s Live Lounge. Introducing it online, they said:
“It’s been hard to keep this one under wraps because we’re about as excited as we’ve ever been to release a record.
“We think Prizefighter is the best music we’ve ever made, and we’ve never been happier doing it. With the help of our old friend Aaron Dessner, we found this creative flow that brought out the best in us as artists, and made us feel comfortable in our skins, and confident in what we have to bring to this mad world of music.
“We also thought the time, and the songs, were right to invite some of our favourite artists in the world to collaborate with us: Chris Stapleton, Gracie Abrams, Gigi Perez and, of course, Hozier. We cannot fucking wait for you to hear it.”
The announcement arrives ahead of a 22-date tour of Europe and the UK that begins on Noveber 6 in Stockholm and wraps up with two London shows at The O2 on December 10 and 11. Support on select European dates will come from The Vaccines and The Barr Brothers, while the UK run will feature Sierra Ferrell.
They’ll close the year with a headline performance at Wild Horses Festival in San Diego on December 27 and an acoustic show at Belly Up Aspen on December 28. In 2026, they’ll top the bill of Out Of The Blue Festival in Cancun, Mexico in January, and Innnings Festival in Tempe, Arizona in February. Tickets are on sale now.
