Bre Tiesi Finally Addressed Nick Cannon’s Relationship With Mariah Carey on ‘Selling Sunset’

- Selling Sunset season 9 premiered on Netflix Wednesday, Oct. 29.
- Bre made a rare comment on her partner Nick Cannon and his ex Mariah Carey on the show.
- Bre and Nick share a 2-year-old son, Legendary.
Chrishell Stause might be the most recognizable name from Selling Sunset, but Bre Tiesi is certainly the most intimidating. And if she doesn’t want to talk about something on camera, she’ll walk out—especially if it has to do with her partner Nick Cannon. Which is why Bre talking about Mariah Carey on Selling Sunset season 9 a total surprise.
The topic came up when Bre was explaining her feud with Chelsea Lazkani to Oppenheim Group newbie Sandra Vergara. (In case you don’t remember: Bre didn’t appreciate how Chelsea judged her open relationship with Nick in season 6, and the two have been on the outs ever since.) When Bre mentioned Nick, however, Sandra asked, “Doesn’t he have, like, 20 kids?” (FYI, he has 12 kids, including two-year-old son Legendary with Bre.)

Sandra then referred to Nick as “Mariah Carey’s ex” and asked if Bre had ever met the singer. And that’s when Bre shut it all down. “I try not to talk about my religion. I don’t talk about pronouns or Mariah,” she said, setting a clear boundary. “Just for the future, those are things that are my no’s.” It may not be the most revealing quote, but at least it’s honest.
Despite her unconventional relationship with Nick continuing to be a Selling Sunset storyline, the couple seem to be going strong. On Tuesday, October 28—just one day ahead of the release of season 9—Bre shared photos and videos on Instagram from her family day at the pumpkin patch with Nick and their son, Legendary.

And while Bre hasn’t said much about the status of her relationship with the mothers of Nick’s other children, she has made clear that she’s open to her son having a relationship with his many siblings.
“They’re just young right now, so they don’t really interact as much,” she said in an interview on the We Need to Talk podcast in March. “I just want to make sure I’m keeping the door open and that everyone involved is happy.”
