Stephen Mulhern previously opened up about whether or not having a baby is on the cards for him.

The beloved TV presenter has been a staple on screens for years after shooting to fame in the 1990s. Whether it’s stints on Dancing on Ice, You Bet! or Catchphrase, Stephen has kept himself busy.

Currently, Stephen can be seen on ITV’s reboot of long-running game show Deal or No Deal, where he took over hosting duties from Noel Edmonds in 2023.

However, despite being a household name, Stephen – who is believed to be single – usually remains tight-lipped about his off-screen life, particularly his love life.

Stephen is a firm favourite on TV

Last year, reports suggested that Stephen was dating fellow ITV star Josie Gibson. This rumour was sparked after they were seen hand-in-hand outside a studio during the finale taping of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.

The pair appeared rather close, igniting rumours of a secret romance. Nonetheless, Josie later shut down the claims while talking to OK! Magazine, clarifying that she and Stephen are nothing more than “best friends”.

However, back in 2014, although private about his personal life, Stephen dropped a baby bombshell, revealing that he would love to have kids of his own but is in no rush.

“Do I miss having a partner? Not really, and I think that’s because I’m very busy,” Stephen shared with The Mirror at the time. He went on: “There’s plenty of time for that yet and would I like kids one day? Absolutely. Of course.”

Then, referring to Simon Cowell, who became a dad aged 54, Stephen added: “Simon is the example of that.”

Meanwhile, in 2018, Stephen opened up about his “sad” dating life. He told Celebs Now: “Last time I went on a date was about four years ago. That makes me sound really sad! I need a life. I need to stop working so much.

Back in 2008 though, Stephen was linked to EastEnders star Emma Barton, who plays Honey Mitchell on the BBC soap. The pair were said to have grown close while starring in pantomime production of Snow White in Birmingham at the time.

Neither Emma or Stephen confirmed the rumours although they were spotted out together for a duration of three years. When their relationship ended, without ever admitting that they were an item, Stephen said his time with Emma came to a “natural end”.
