Field Hockey Closing Out 2025 Season With Cornell (Sat), Delaware (Sun)

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania field hockey team will head on the road to take on Ivy League opponent Cornell on Saturday, Nov. 1 at noon and return home on Sunday, Nov. 2 to host Delaware in the last game of the season at 1 p.m.
Penn is coming off a loss to No. 14 Yale and a win against Saint Joseph’s last weekend.

Penn vs Cornell
The Quakers will travel to Ithaca, N.Y. to face the Big Red for the 48th all-time matchup on Saturday. Penn has lost two of the last three matchups against Cornell, including last year in double overtime at Ellen Vagelos Field. This was Penn’s first home loss against Cornell since 2009. The Red and Blue enter the game coming off their eighth win of the year, over Saint Joseph’s on Sunday, Oct. 26. Cornell won its 10th game of the season on Friday, Oct. 24 against Dartmouth.
Penn vs Delaware
The Blue Hens and the Quakers will meet for the 33rd time on Sunday. Delaware has won the last two matchups against Penn including last year’s 2-1 win at Ellen Vagelos Field. The Blue Hens are looking to bounce back against Lafayette on Friday after three consecutive losses. Sunday’s matchup will be Penn’s senior day as the team will honor the careers of Julia Ryan, Amy Lanouette, Philine Klas and Livia Loozen in the last game of the 2025 season.
Quaker Notemeal
*Penn was ranked No. 12 this week in the NCAA RPI rankings.
*The Quakers will honor seniors Julia Ryan, Livia Loozen, Philine Klas and Amy Lanouette on Sunday vs. Delaware.
*Senior Amy Lanouette has started every game this season for the Quakers. She will be playing in her 43rd and 44th game for the Quakers this weekend.
*Senior Philine Klas has started in every game she has played with the Quakers, currently with a career-high five goals scored this season.
*Senior Livia Loozen has scored two game winning goals this season, against Columbia and American. She has started in every game for the past three seasons for the Red and Blue.
*Senior Julia Ryan has been one of the most decorated players in Penn field hockey history, being named to the Second-Team All-Ivy team twice. Last year she became the first Quaker since 2017 to score six-plus goals and assists in a season.
*Ryan leads the team in goals and points this season, she scored twice in the Quakers 3-2 win over Saint Joseph’s.
*The Red and Blue tied a season-high with seven penalty corners against Saint Joseph’s, while only allowing just one for the Hawks.
Scouting the Big Red
*Cornell’s offense is one of the most aggressive in the country, averaging 19.6 shots per game.
*The Big Red are nationally ranked No. 1 in penalty corners per game (10.86), No. 7 in assists per game (3.07) and No. 16 in goals per game (2.79).
*Junior Julia Ramsey ranks No. 7 in the country in assists per game (0.93), leading the team with 13 this season.
*Sophomore Uma Kading leads the team in goals scored (10) and points (25).
*15 players have scored a goal this season for the Big Red.
*Defensively, the Big Red have recorded five shutouts this season against Mercyhurst, La Salle, Yale, LIU and Lehigh.
Scouting the Blue Hens
*Senior Iris Bekker leads the team in goals (7), points (17) and shots (41).
*Junior Kate Fiest (15) and graduate student Alexa Michielsen (12) also have scored double figures in points this season.
*Goalkeeper Kristi Merashoff has allowed 33 goals this season, 2.84 per game.
