Remarkable news has emerged from Ruhr Nachrichten ahead of Borussia Dortmund’s Bundesliga trip to Augsburg on Friday.
The local outlet reports that Nico Schlotterbeck will be unavailable. The centre-back is slightly under the weather and will be rested following Dortmund’s exhausting midweek DFB-Pokal win over Eintracht Frankfurt.
Niklas Süle will also miss the game due to a swollen toe.
Meanwhile, captain Emre Can is back in the squad after nearly five months on the sidelines with persistent adductor issues.
With both Schlotterbeck and Süle out, Aaron Anselmino is expected to start alongside Ramy Bensebaini and Waldemar Anton in Dortmund’s defence.
