Brandon Lake Responds To Viral Video Of Hospitalized Fan Who Says His Music Helped Her Survive

Brandon Lake’s collaboration with Jelly Roll, “Hard Fought Hallelujah” gave her the courage to continue fighting her “hardest battle yet.”

Brandon Lake’s powerful worship music continues to touch lives around the world, and a recent video by social media creator Alexandria Cheplak is proof. From her hospital bed, Cheplak posted an emotional message asking fans to help her get the attention of the Grammy Award-winning Christian artist in hopes of getting to experience his talent live.

In the video, she opens up about her year-long health journey, which has included numerous heart surgeries, at least 40 nights in the hospital and a slew of various complications. Through it all, she says worship music, especially Brandon Lake’s songs, has been her constant source of strength.

“The one thing that has gotten us all through is worship music,” she explained. “Every time I’ve gone down for a scan, every time the surgeon was about to start a heart surgery, we have them blast. My favorite worship music and my faith has just really kept me going through this.”

Cheplak then took the opportunity to ask for “a favor,” which involved getting as many people as possible to tag Lake in the comment section of the video. Because of the impact his music has had on her life, she had hoped to attend his upcoming show in Nevada on November 14. Unfortunately, with the concert being sold-out, she decided to try going directly to the source.

“My family and I would love, love to just be there, be a part of it, and to see all that God is doing through his shows and to just worship and praise together. So please do me a favor and tag him. We need him to see this. I love you all so much. Thanks for all the support,” her statement concluded.

Within just 12 hours of the video being posted, over 1100 users tagged the singer/songwriter and offered kind messages explaining why Cheplak deserved to attend the show that night.

Some of the notes she received included:

@brandonlake you are looking at your most beautiful fan🙌❤️”

“@brandonlake ! She is the most humble Christian mother /friend I know ! She was walked these challenges with such grace and positivity ! 💙like your lyrics sing “You can praise when you’re wounded, praise when you’re broken, Praise when you’re barely holding on.”- that is exactly what Lexi has done.”

“@brandonlake please hear and see this, let’s send some joy and Jesus to this wonderful lady 🤍”

Hollywood actor, Taylor Lautner even joined in writing, “@brandonlake Lexi is a beautiful human inside and out, just like you. Love you 🙏”

The efforts of thousands of Instagram users worked because not long after, Brandon Lake jumped into the comment section to let the woman know he would be fulfilling her wish to attend his show.

He wrote, “I gotchu Lexi!! Shooting you a DM and we’ll make sure you all get tickets and hosted for the best night!!!”

Alexandria Cheplak shared with Country Now that the past 11 months have been incredibly challenging. Among the 30 total heart surgeries she has undergone, four took place this year and the most recent one left her “on life support, bleeding out, and a ventilator for a week.”

She particularly called out Brandon Lake’s collaboration with Jelly Roll, “Hard Fought Hallelujah” for giving her the courage to continue fighting her “hardest battle yet.” This alone will make her concert experience unforgettable.

“Witnessing these songs live will be so healing and special for me! Especially the line “my head heart and hands are feeling heavy that’s when I lift them just a little higher,” she explained.

The user’s most recent update via social media revealed that while she will have to be on home oxygen, she has been discharged from the hospital.

“Thank you Jesus. This heart warrior won’t stop fighting until I stop breathing.”
