Babar Azam breaks Rohit Sharma’s T20I record: Top 10 highest run scorers in T20I cricket history listed

Former Pakistan captain Babar Azam surpassed India’s T20 World Cup-winning skipper Rohit Sharma to become the highest run-getter in T20I cricket.
While facing South Africa in the second T20I of the three-match series, Babar scored 11*(18) in their successful chase of 111 runs and helped the hosts level the series.

As Pakistan prepares for the upcoming T20 World Cup, Babar was recently recalled to the T20I side to bring his experience, after being out of the team since December 2024.
During his knock, he took a single off Donavan Ferreira to go past Rohit’s total, having also played 28 innings fewer than the Indian.

Babar’s 4234 runs in the T20Is have come at a healthy average of 39.57 with the help of three centuries and 36 fifties.
He is accompanied by his teammate Mohammad Rizwan in the list of top-10 T20I batters with 3414 runs in 106 matches at an average of 47.41 and a century. Notably, they are the only two batters with a sub-130 strike rate among the top-10.
