Namuwongo Blazers have levelled the series as they chase their maiden National Basketball League title.

Nam Blazers secured a well-deserved 71-64 victory against City Oilers in the NBL Finals encounter at Lugogo Indoor Arena on Friday.

After going two games down, the Blazers have turned around the tied as they level the series in the best-of-five highly anticipated marathon of games.

Experienced guard Tonny Drileba fired home a big three to get the game underway and also pump some energy in the Blazers’ red and vocal corner.

Kurt Wegscheider concluded the opening period with a jumpshot as the Oilers took a four-point lead (18-14) at the quarter.

City Oilers limited the Blazers to only eight points as they went into the halftime break with a slim two-point lead (26-24).

Coming from the locker rooms, the Blazers put up a great show turning defence into attack as they opened a five-point lead (47-42) at the end of the third quarter.

Despite the City Oilers’ big fight, the Blazers held on strong to take home a seven-point victory.

Tonny Drileba (15 points), Ivan Muhwezi (11 points) and Joel Lukoji (10 points) led the Blazers’ score board in double digits.

On the other hand, only Chad Bowie (21 points) and Kurt Curry (20 points) scored double digits for City Oilers.
