Newcastle United defender Sven Botman is one of the Premier League’s finest centre-backs and the Dutchman’s personal life has been just as successful

Sven Botman has emerged as one of the top centre-backs in the Premier League with Newcastle United. And he’s also been making waves off the pitch.
Botman joined the Magpies from French outfit Lille in 2022 for a reasonable £35million. He quickly became a regular starter under Eddie Howe, but an ACL injury in March 2024 put him out of action for months.
The 25-year-old has had ongoing issues with his knee and missed Newcastle’s Carabao Cup triumph over Tottenham on Wednesday due to a head injury he picked up in last weekend’s match against Fulham.
Supporting Botman through these periods of injury is fashion designer and artist Chana Kesselaar, who has been a pillar of strength for the Dutchman since his arrival in the Premier League.
It’s not clear exactly when Botman and Chana started dating, but some reports suggest they’ve been together for nearly a decade, having started their relationship in 2016.

According to her website, Chana is a fashion stylist and creative artist who studied at Luzac College and the Vogue Academy in her native Amsterdam.
She styles both men and women across various professions, including musicians and TV presenters, drawing inspiration from world-famous fashion houses like Chanel.
Chana offers glimpses into her and Botman’s personal lives on social media, sharing snapshots and videos of sun-soaked trips to Greece and holidays on private yachts.
She also boasts a popular TikTok account, amassing more than 45,000 followers and an impressive 2.2 million likes. She uses this platform to showcase her fashion choices and shared insights into her pregnancy journey.

In April 2024, Botman and Chana announced they were expecting their first child. Chana uploaded several glamorous videos detailing her maternity wardrobe.
Fast forward to September, baby Giulia Sarah Adriana Botman made her entrance into the world. She was present in May when Newcastle’s players’ families were invited onto the St James’ Park pitch for a lap of honour after the season had ended.
Chana is known for supporting her partner around the globe during his matches, notably being spotted in the stands when Newcastle took on Union Saint-Gilloise in the Champions League last October.

Botman played the full 90 minutes during this tie, in which goals from Nick Woltemade, Anthony Gordon and Harvey Barnes gave his side a 4-0 win.
On Tyneside, Chana is said to be smitten with the stunning nature park Jesmond Dene, a perfect location for tranquil dog walks or simply enjoying the picturesque surroundings with her partner.
She has also been seen alongside Sandro Tonali’s partner, Italian influencer Juliette Pastore, in the stands at St James’ Park. Pastore, another admirer of the Dene, became midfielder Tonali’s fiancée earlier this year in March.
