Report: Colts have called Bengals ahead of NFL trade deadline

The Colts are reportedly one of several teams who have reached out to the Bengals ahead of the NFL trade deadline.

Ahead of the NFL’s trade deadline, which is nearing, the Indianapolis Colts are reportedly one of a few teams that have reached out to the Cincinnati Bengals.

According to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, the Colts, along with the LA Rams, San Francisco, Detroit, and Philadelphia, have all called the Bengals.

The three players that Russini mentioned being of interest were linebacker Logan Wilson, cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt, and defensive end Trey Hendrickson.

Russini adds that “for now” there are teams who don’t believe the Bengals have any “real interest” in moving on from any of their core players.

But at 3-5 on the season, perhaps a loss on Sunday to Chicago could change things.

It’s not a surprise that the Colts are one of the teams that have reached out to the Bengals.

For one, current defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo was previously in Cincinnati for a number of years and has worked with each of those players mentioned above.

In addition to that, if we were building out a list of the Colts’ three biggest trade deadline needs, cornerback, pass rusher, and even linebacker would likely be the consensus selections.

We recently highlighted the trade assets that the Colts have available to help facilitate a deal.

The NFL trade deadline is November 4th at 4:00 PM ET.
