Russian soldiers have been seen surrendering to Ukrainian troops in dramatic footage from the war. It came after their war bunker was obliterated thanks to a major drone strike thanks to Kyiv’s forces.
The war between Russia and Ukraine is continuing and is nearly reaching its fourth year of fighting. As Kyiv and Moscow continue to battle it out, a peace deal looks further away than ever, despite Western attempts to broker an agreement.
But in the latest footage from the frontline, Ukraine is striking back against Vladimir Putin’s forces. As a result, Ukraine is hoping to turn the course of the war around as the West continues to debate whether to give Kyiv more long-range missiles to strike deeper into Russian territory.

In a report for Sky News, journalists were able to watch from a Ukrainian drone control room as they scoped out potential hideouts for Russian soldiers. The footage was captured in the lucrative Donbass region that Ukraine has owned since its independence, but Russia is trying to snatch away.
As the soldiers watch on, they discovered several corps of Russians along the frontline keeping themselves hidden. According to Ukrainian services, some 200 soldiers loyal to Vladimir Putin were surrounded in these bunkers and were refusing to come out, meaning Ukrainian soldiers had to resort to more coercive means.
Dramatic footage showed Ukrainian forces attempt to destroy a huge factory believed to be housing Russian soldiers. This came despite one of its key tanks getting stuck on train tracks, in a tense moment for Kyiv’s forces.

Moscow’s troops eventually eviscerated the tank, setting it on fire while its drivers ran away. The Russian troops had attempted to strike and kill the two soldiers, but the pair were luckily located some 40 minutes after the attack.
With Russian soldiers attacking and shooting at the soldiers, they gave their location away — meaning Ukrainian forces could focus their counterstrike on their own target. Ukraine’s brave troops were able to unleash a wave of suicide drone attacks on the gatehouse, sending the building into smokes.
Speaking to the outlet, soldiers in the control room were able to determine that the Russian stuck in the building were “clearly not combat capable”, having sustained wounds after the blasts. In a striking moment, the Ukrainian forces speak to the Russian soldiers still held up in the building and order them to surrender, or face another attack.

With no response, the Ukrainians launch another attack on the building, dropping another major drone in and causing severe damage to the building. Seconds later, a Russian emerges from a cubby hole to wave a white flag, showing their decision to surrender to Ukraine in a momentous occasion.
These instances come as frontline continues to shift between Russian and Ukrainian positions. Ukraine is continuing to appeal for more weapons to stave off Russian aggression, but US President Donald Trump has warned off any chance of American Tomahawk missiles being given to Kyiv, as Washington teeters between Ukraine and Russia.
