‘Meth’: Horror sight at Perth Metallica concert

Metallica concertgoers in Perth have made some shocking claims about the use of illegal drugs in the crowd while the rockers belted out their hits at Optus Stadium.
Two men have already been arrested after climbing the central tower in the stadium during the concert, and now some fans have alleged that elsewhere in the crowd, some concertgoers appeared to be smoking meth.
In a series of shocking claims on Reddit following the concert, fans have alleged that a handful of fans in the gold circle were engaging in illegal drug use without fear of reprimand or consideration of their families at the event.
“I smelt weed, DMT and meth… I couldn’t believe it, to be honest,” claimed one angry fan who had their concert experience ruined.
“The meth problem in Perth is out of control, and to do that at a crowded concert puts all the people around them at risk. That’s disgusting behaviour,” said a second.
A third fan said he saw some concertgoers passing a meth pipe between themselves, writing: “I was in GA2 as well and had a laugh with the fellas next to me who were toking on some doobz, which I did not mind at all, but I saw two guys passing a bulb back and forth!”
“I saw a couple boys smoking meth in the pit, and the smell was wafting over everyone behind them,” insisted another bemused fan.
Another substantiated the claims, saying: “We had a woman crouch down before Metallica in GA1 and light a pipe, and it was like a beacon for all the derros to shuffle over and ask for a blow!”
News.com.au has approached Optus Stadium for comment. WA Police said it had not received any reports.
Meanwhile, it comes after two fans, a 20-year-old man from Carey Park and a 23-year-old man from Australind, will face court after climbing the central tower in the stadium during the concert.
Photos from the scene show cops arresting the shirtless men during Saturday’s concert.
The police have charged both men with a trespass offence.
“It will be alleged the men climbed up the central tower inside the bowl at the Metallica concert held at Optus Stadium on Saturday,” a police spokeswoman told NewsWire.
It was an action-packed night, with the iconic rockers performing some of The John Butler Trio’s song Zebra midway through their set.
The track is The John Butler Trio’s biggest single, and has been a radio staple since its release back in 2003.
