Recent rumors have claimed anyone who pre-orders the vault edition of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will be granted 72 hours of early access, meaning the release date would be effectively brought forward from Friday, Nov. 14 to Tuesday, Nov. 11.

Additionally, Miles Ross, commentator and analyst for the Call of Duty League, replied to a tweet also clarifying the rumored early release date is false by saying “that’s what you guys think,” which only served to add fuel to the fire.

To cut a long story short, we can confirm that this is false. Polygon reached out to an Activision representative for clarification and the response we received was that “those rumors are completely bogus – the game is not launching early in any fashion.”

Video games offering early access windows for players who pre-order special editions of the game aren’t anything new, but this would be a first for Call of Duty, which has historically only offered such perks during its multiplayer beta windows.

However, the Black Ops 7 Vault Edition does offer a plethora of other in-game bonuses, including but not limited to operator skins, the Blackcell battle pass, and five different mastercrafted weapons. Even if you do commit to the special edition early though, you’ll need to wait to play like everyone else.
