Two SaskPower employees fired for misusing corporate fuel cards

The first incident occurred over a two-year period from March 21, 2023 to July 20, 2025 when an employee used a procurement card to purchase fuel for trips which they also submitted mileage expense claims totaling $1,114.83.  The employee was fired and the incident is being reported to police. SaskPower will attempt to recover the money.

The other incident happened between February 24, 2025 and August 26, 2025. An employee used a corporate procurement and fuel card for personal purchases totaling $2,216.94.  That person was fired and SaskPower has recovered the full amount.

Meantime, the Saskatchewan Health Authority in Saskatoon suspended an employee for 30-days. The person submitted incorrect mileage claims and work shifts totaling $2,022.00.  The employee is repaying that amount and is no longer being sent to offsite locations on a regular basis.
