People’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2025 has finally been revealed and it’s none other than Wicked and Bridgerton star Jonathan Bailey, making him the first openly gay man to earn the title.
To say fans have been drooling over him for many a year is an understatement, but the last 12-months have seen his star-status hit overdrive.
From his performance as Fiyero in the first (and soon the second) instalment of Wicked to his appearance in Jurassic World Rebirth with his ‘sluttly little glasses’, Bailey has been the man everyone is drooling over all through 2025.

Once the news hit the internet, fans were quick to share their opinions on the publication’s choice, and needless to say, everyone is in agreement that he is the correct choice.
One fan wrote on X: ‘Jonathan Bailey is the sexiest man alive and all is right in the world,’ while another shared: ‘I’m pretty sure Jonathan Bailey being Sexiest Man Alive is universally agreeable.’
A third posted: ‘Jonathan Bailey Sexiest Man Alive. Now I can die peacefully.’

Even Jonathan’s Wicked co-stars are getting in on the news, sharing a video of them all sending their congratulations to him while wearing jumpers and T-shirts emblazoned with photos from his People magazine photoshoot.
Some of his sexy shoot includes pics alongside his beloved pooch Benson, who he revealed was the only person he officially told about his news.
‘I mean, it’s a huge honor. Obviously, I’m incredibly flattered. And it’s completely absurd,’ he told People for his cover interview.

When speaking to Jimmy Fallon as he was revealed as this year’s honouree, Bailey also pointed out how he’s someone who can ‘really cherish the value of a sexy man’.
Considering this is the 40th anniversary of the series, it’s hard to believe he is the first openly gay star to be given the title.
He also admitted that while Benson was the only person he told officially, he did have a night out with his friends recently and told them he was ‘the Sexiest Man Alive’ after a few drinks, to which they supposedly replied: ‘Yeah yeah do your affirmations.’
