‘They actually got it right!’ Fans go wild as British actor named People’s Sexiest Man Alive
Jonathan Bailey has been named People’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2025 and let’s just say fans are more than happy about it.
The yearly accolade often causes a stir with last year’s Sexiest Man Alive choice dividing opinion but Jonathan appears to have received the seal of approval from People readers.
Following in the footsteps of 2024’s John Krasinski and 2023’s Patrick Dempsey, the 37-year-old British actor is having his moment in the spotlight with his roles as Fiyero in Wicked and Anthony in Bridgerton, and he becomes the first openly gay man to be crowned Sexiest Man Alive.

The news was announced on the Jimmy Fallon show on Monday, with Jonathan making an appearance, calling it ‘the honor of a lifetime’ and saying he was still ‘giggling’ about the win.
People Magazine also seemed confident in their choice, writing in the headline ‘We Know, We Nailed It’ and describing Johnathan as ‘brimming with charm, wit and almost unfairly handsome looks, has become one of the most irresistible stars in Hollywood’.

Speaking to People for his Sexiest Man Alive cover story, he said: ‘Obviously, I’m incredibly flattered. And it’s completely absurd.’
However, he might be the only one thinking it’s absurd as fans all around the globe are thrilled at the news, calling him a ‘phenomenal choice’.

Fans, who are used to being disappointed by each year’s winner, wrote: ‘People Magazine… got it right?? This feels weird.’
Another person added: ‘So they actually got it right this time?’ and a third said: ‘CORRECT!! Good job, People.’
Another called Johnathan the ‘people’s princess,’ while one wrote: ‘The way he’s so smiley and giggly about it speaks volumes and proves he is the perfect pick.’
One fan spoke everyone’s mind when they commented: ‘I need 10 well-produced rom coms with him as the lead asap.’
