Qarabag vs Chelsea

Jimmy ‘The Punt’ Cantrill

Chelsea may be 4/11 to win at Qarabag but the task at hand doesn’t seem as easy as the odds suggest.

Wednesday’s hosts came from two goals down to win at Benfica in their first game, beat Copenhagen to nil on matchday two and opened the scoreline at Athletic Club in their last outing inside the first minute.

Although the price about Qarabag is tempting, the 3/4 for BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE looks the most sensible way in here.

Chelsea have conceded in two thirds of their 15 games in all competitions this season, shipping 12 in eight away games.

Benfica vs Bayer Leverkusen

Jake Osgathorpe

The desperation for a win at the Estadio da Luz will be palpable for both Benfica and Bayer Leverkusen, as both have made winless starts to their Champions League campaign.

Jose Mourinho’s side sit second from bottom in the UCL league phase after losing all three contests to date, while Leverkusen sit 30th out of 36 and head to Portugal after a 3-0 humbling at Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, and a 7-2 home loss to PSG in their last Champions League outing.

Tempers could flare here due to the must-win nature of the match, so we have to give A RED CARD IN THE MATCH a run at 11/2, especially given the referee appointment, and we’ll chance BOTH TEAMS RED CARD at a huge price.

The man in the middle is Simone Sozza, and he’s brandished a red card in five of his eight games this season, showing six reds in total, while both teams have seen an awful lot of reds this season.

Benfica have seen a red card in seven of their last 16 games across all competitions, while Bayer Leverkusen have seen a red card in six of their 14, their games seeing nine reds in total.

Given the state of play for both, the referee appointment and the red-card-heavy start to the season for both teams, the 11/2 for a red looks massive. And, while it probably won’t land, 80/1 for both teams to be red carded has to be chanced – it did land in Leverkusen’s last UCL game.

Newcastle vs Athletic Club

Jimmy ‘The Punt’ Cantrill

ALEJANDRO REGO is expected to start in central midfield for the visitors. He hasn’t started a La Liga game this term but started Athletic Club’s last two in the Champions League.

In the Spanish top flight, Rego has completed a tackle in every cameo and committed five fouls across his last 72 minutes of league action.

In his two Champions League starts, he has completed seven tackles and committed one foul but the latter should increase at St James’ Park.

Newcastle are one of the most fouled teams in the Premier League (11.6 per game) and Bruno Guimaraes is the second most foul player in the division (2.8 per game).

In this competition against Newcastle, Benfica only committed seven fouls in total but three were committed by the central midfielders. Union Sanit-Gilloise midfield three committed seven fouls between them and Barcelona’s midfield three committed six between them.

At 5/6, Rego’s price TO COMMIT 2+ FOULS appeals.
