Timothy Ouma: Harambee Stars Midfielder Set for Fresh Challenge in Spain

Kenyan midfielder Timothy Ouma is set for his third Europa Conference League match of the season as Lech Poznan face La Liga club Rayo Vallecano on Thursday night.
Harambee Stars midfielder Timothy Ouma is preparing for a tricky match in Spain with his Polish club Lech Poznan set to take on Rayo Vallecano in the Europa Conference League.
Ouma has been an integral member of the squad, not missing a game in the last two months, and will be among the first names on the team sheet on Thursday when the Polish champions face the La Liga side in Madrid.
Lech Poznan started their Conference League campaign like a house on fire, when they thrashed Austrian club Rapid Vienna 4-1 on matchday one, but suffered a shock 2-1 loss to Gibraltan minnows Lincoln Red Imps.

That adds pressure on Ouma and co as they need to win to get their campaign back on track even if just two matches have been played.
Vallecano had a 103rd minute penalty to thank for a 2-2 draw against Hacken in the last Conference League round and they also come into the match with a win and draw from their opening two matches.
Ouma Playing European Football for Second Season
Ouma has been a key player for Lech Poznan this season, making 19 appearances in all competitions at the heart of midfield, playing 90 minutes in nine of them, and will hope to make it 10 on Thursday night.
European away defeats are fairly rare for the Polish giants, with the loss to Lincoln just their second from their last 11 road trips on the continent, having won five and drawn four before that surprising result.
This is the first meeting between Vallecano and Polish opposition while Lech Poznan’s record against Spanish opposition makes much better reading, having won two, drawn as many and lost three.
The Polish side have in their ranks forward Mikael Ishak, who has netted in both of their Conference League games this season, and has scored the second goal of the match on seven of his last eight scoring appearances.
Ouma is playing European football for a second straight year after featuring in the Europa League for Swedish club Elfsborg last season before a January transfer to Czech giants Slavia Prague, who are playing in the Champions League.
The 21-year-old is on a season-long loan deal at Lech Poznan from Slavia Prague.
