Is Raiders coach Pete Carroll on the hot seat?

Las Vegas Raiders coach Pete Carroll hasn’t gotten off to the best start in his return to the NFL.
His 2-6 Raiders face the 7-2 Denver Broncos on the road on Thursday night in a key AFC West matchup. Another loss would put Las Vegas at a lowly 2-7 and nearing yet another lost season.

Carroll is only in the first year of his sideline stint with the Raiders, but could the franchise opt to find a new coach in the offseason?
Carroll is the oldest head coach in the NFL at 74, and it’s always possible he could decide to retire at the end of the season. Carroll’s age and the team’s overall results in 2025 could inspire the Raiders to look elsewhere in 2026, but it’s also possible the team gives Carroll another season to guide it back to winning ways in 2026.
Team owner Mark Davis recently preached patience with Carroll and new general manger John Spytek, but would more losses change his tune… at least with Carroll?

It’s hard to say, but at least right now, Carroll seems poised to return in 2026 if he so wishes.
