Livinia Nixon to wave farewell to weather role

After two decades of weather forecasting Livinia Nixon is stepping down from the role.
The popular Channel 9 presenter said it was time for clearer days after the “unrelenting” juggle of work and family life.
“After two decades in the 9Newsroom, l’ve made the difficult decision to step back from my current role,” she wrote on social media.
“As you know, the juggle of modern life is unrelenting and I need to spend more time with my boys.
“Thank you for allowing me the privilege of being in your lounge rooms every night … I haven’t always got the forecast right, but hey, that’s Melbourne for you!”
Nixon said she was “so grateful” for her time with the network “and I’m proud to be leaving on a high”.
“I shall be cheering 9News on from the sidelines. I’ll always be grateful to Channel 9 for understanding my situation and for supporting my decision.”
Nixon will remain at Nine with Getaway and Postcards.
“As my boys said, “we’re pretty excited to spend more time with you, Mum”.
“My final weather report will be November 18. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Livinia.”
Nixon started her career on the children’s show Plucka’s Place in 1997 before moving to the iconic Hey Hey It’s Saturday as co-host, from 1997 until the show’s cancellation in late 1999. She has also worked in radio.
