The Wisconsin Badgers men’s basketball team hits the hardcourt for its second game of the season when it takes on Northern Illinois on Friday, Nov. 7 at the Kohl Center in Madison.
The 24th-ranked Badgers opened their season on Monday, Nov. 3 against Campbell and used a 29-2 run in the second half to score a 96-64 victory over the Fighting Camels.
The backcourt duo of junior John Blackwell and San Diego State transfer Nick Boyd showed their potential in the opener by scoring 52 of UW’s 96 points.
Wisconsin’s performance impressed Campbell coach John Andrzejek, who said he thinks the Badgers have the talent and culture to make a deep run in the NCAA tournament this season. Andrzejek should know a thing or two about deep runs in March as he was an assistant on the Florida Gators team that won the national title in early April.

Northern Illinois entered this season predicted to finish last in the 13-team Mid-American Conference. The Huskies did score a 102-82 over Louisiana-Monroe to open their season.
