Oregon reserve cornerback leaves program with intent to transfer

EUGENE — A second Oregon cornerback intends to transfer after the season.
Dakoda Fields, a top 100 recruit in the class of 2024, has left the program, Dan Lanning confirmed following Wednesday’s practice.
“He didn’t come to work today,” Lanning said. “We haven’t talked to Dakoda. I guess that’s the way it goes nowadays.”
On3 first reported Fields’ intent to transfer and by Wednesday afternoon he removed references to Oregon from his social media profiles. He had one tackle while playing in the first three games this season but has not appeared since and did not travel to Rutgers.
Fields did not play last season due in part to injury and could seek a medical hardship waiver to have three years of eligibility remaining.
He’s the second Ducks cornerback to leave the program with the intent of transferring this week, joining third-year junior Jahlil Florence.
Their departures combined with Theran Johnson completing his eligibility will leave Oregon with five returning cornerbacks in 2026 and one commitment at the position.
A four-star recruit out of Junipero Serra High, the 6-foot-2, 200-pound Fields was ranked No. 90 nationally in the 247Sports Composite in the class of 2024. He is the fourth member of UO’s 2024 recruiting class to leave the program and the highest-rated of those players.
