Who is The Kid LAROI? Australian singer to perform at halftime of NFL Germany game

NFL Week 10 picks: Consider Eagles, Bears and Browns on Sunday

Somehow it’s already Week 10 of the NFL season. If you’re looking for help making your picks, watch and see why Lorenzo likes the Browns, Bears and Eagles.

Move over, Beethoven. There’s a new kid in town.

The German music legend might’ve dominated the scene in the early 1800s, but the famous composer’s work won’t be anywhere near the biggest sporting event in the country on Nov. 9.

Instead, it will be the work of Australian singer, The Kid LAROI.

Best known for his single “Stay” with Justin Bieber, The Kid LAROI is the latest in a trend of high-profile NFL games.

The NFL continues to treat international games as almost miniature versions of the Super Bowl, giving them halftime shows and more hype than the traditional regular-season contests.

While the Indianapolis Colts and Atlanta Falcons make some halftime adjustments, the fans will have plenty to keep them occupied during the break.

Here’s what to know about the NFL’s Germany game halftime show performer.

Who is The Kid LAROI?

The Kid LAROI is an Australian singer-songwriter and rapper.

Born just outside of Sydney in Waterloo, New South Wales, Australia, the artist’s real name is Charlton Kenneth Jeffrey Howard.

The 22-year-old rose to fame in the late 2010s before continuing his ascent into the 2020s. He got his start on SoundCloud, using his mother’s phone and posting raps over beats. The singer eventually inked a deal with Sony Music and also saw his career take off after opening for the late American rapper, Juice WRLD.

Both musicians became friends, with Juice WRLD mentoring the young Australian in the music industry.

The Kid LAROI released his biggest hit, “Stay,” on July 9, 2021. His collaboration with Bieber managed to top the Billboard charts, marking his first single to do so.

Now the Australian will have a chance to introduce himself to a big audience on the NFL’s global stage.

“I’m hyped to be performing for the NFL’s first regular-season game in Berlin, and I know the energy at the stadium is going to be epic,” The Kid LAROI said in a statement. “It’s an honor to be part of this history-making event and bring my music to such passionate fans, we’re going to make this a day the city won’t forget.”

And it’ll be hard to forget, considering he’ll be part of the NFL’s first game in Berlin.
