Buffalo Bills at Miami Dolphins: first-half open thread

The Buffalo Bills and the Miami Dolphins are set to face off for the second time this season. In the first meeting, Buffalo won 31-21 in a hard-fought contest that was tight throughout. That victory propelled the Bills to a 3-0 start, while that loss sent an already-reeling Miami club to an 0-3 beginning to what has been a disastrous 2025 season.

Since that game, the Dolphins have lost one of their best wideouts, Tyreek Hill, to a lower leg fracture. They have traded away edge rusher Jaelen Phillips, sending the former first-round pick to the Philadelphia Eagles. They have also fired their general manager, Chris Grier, while retaining head coach Mike McDaniel in what looks to be another lost season in South Beach.

While the 2-7 record might suggest an easy win for the Bills today, that’s not likely to be the case. Divisional games are always tough, and the Dolphins are still professionals. Whether they’re playing for postseason positioning or for pride, no games can be taken for granted in the NFL. Buffalo needs to build off of last week’s solid outing, a 28-21 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, in order to bring themselves closer to their ultimate goal.

Your first-half thread is here, friends. Please remember to be civil to each other. Toggle the comments to “oldest” for that classic game-thread feel. And, most importantly, be sure to enjoy the game wherever it is that you’re watching.
