Chris Martin and Sophie Turner are moving on — together.
On the heels of their respective splits from Dakota Johnson and Peregrine Pearson, the Coldplay frontman, 48, and the Game of Thrones alum, 29, have begun seeing each other, a source confirms to Us Weekly.
“They have gone out on a few dates in London,” the insider exclusively tells Us. “It is still very new, but they have a lot of chemistry, and there’s a definite spark between them.”
The source shares that Martin and Turner first “met years ago in passing” because they had “mutual friends in the music industry” during her five-year marriage to Joe Jonas.

“It was always friendly,” the insider tells Us. “Sophie has always admired Chris and was a big fan of both him and his music long before they ever met. She’s even joked that she used to have a bit of a crush on him, so it’s funny and surreal that they actually connected in a romantic way in real life.” (In 2020, Turner squealed and then teared up on Jonas’ Quibi series, Cup of Joe, after he surprised her with a video message from Martin for her birthday.)
So far, Martin and Turner’s relationship has been going well thanks in large part to their shared interests.

“They have a lot in common, and Chris is definitely her type,” the source notes. “They have bonded over being British and their love for music.”
The Daily Mail was the first to report on Martin and Turner’s dates.
News broke in June that Martin and Johnson, 36, had broken up after nearly eight years together. While neither party confirmed the reports, the Materialists actress was subsequently spotted without her engagement ring.
Us exclusively revealed the on-again, off-again couple’s romance in December 2017 and confirmed in March 2024 that they had been quietly “engaged for a while.”
Turner, for her part, most recently dated Pearson, 31, from October 2023 until this past September.
“They had conflicting personalities and weren’t getting along,” the source tells Us of the reason for Emmy nominee’s split from the British aristocrat. “They tried to make it work, but they weren’t meshing, and Sophie wanted to move on.”
Turner’s rep declined to comment. Us Weekly has also reached out to reps for Martin and Pearson.

Prior to Pearson, Turner was married to Jonas, 36, from May 2019 to September 2024. The exes share two daughters: 5-year-old Willa and 3-year-old Delphine.

Although their divorce and custody battle were messy at times, Jonas praised Turner as an “incredible mom” earlier this year.
“I have a beautiful coparenting relationship that I’m really grateful for,” the Jonas Brothers member added during an appearance on podcaster Jay Shetty‘s live tour in May.
Martin, meanwhile, has two children of his own, 21-year-old daughter Apple and 19-year-old son Moses, with his ex-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow. The “Fix You” singer and the Oscar winner — who famously announced their “conscious uncoupling” in March 2014 — were legally married from December 2003 to July 2016.
