Warriors vs. Pacers injury report: Steph Curry to miss 3rd straight game

The Golden State Warriors have been mired in a bit of a slump lately, while also dealing with a brutal stretch of the schedule. They’ll try to get back above .500 tonight when they host the Indiana Pacers, after blowing a lead to the Pacers in a recent game … which is still the only victory of the season for Indiana.
Unfortunately, the Dubs won’t be at full strength, as they’ll once again be lacking their superstar. But they’ll get no sympathy from an Indiana team that is missing tons of names. Here’s the full injury report for Sunday’s game.
Out — Steph Curry (illness)
Get your flu shots and COVID boosters, folks! I have no idea what illness Curry is dealing with, but it’s a doozy. This is the third consecutive game that he’s missed, while also being compromised in one. Heal up, Steph.
Out — De’Anthony Melton (left ACL surgery)
The Warriors sure could have used Melton to fill in while Curry’s been out, but alas, the timing just didn’t work out. The veteran is nearing a return, though.
Available — Al Horford (left foot strain)
Horford missed Friday’s game, and was questionable for this one, too. Thankfully, it looks like he’s good to go.
Out — Tyrese Haliburton (right Achilles tendon tear)
No surprises here. Indy’s franchise player is expected to miss the entirety of the season after a heartbreaking Achilles tear in Game 7 of the NBA Finals back in June. But he’s been a very active member of the team from the sidelines.
Out — Bennedict Mathurin (right great toe sprain)
Mathurin was injured in Indy’s second game of the season and, unfortunately, has yet to return to the court.
Out — Pascal Siakam (rest)
The Pacers were very shorthanded when they beat the Warriors eight days ago, but Siakam was healthy and played a huge role. Today, however, they’re doubling down by giving him a day off.
Out — Aaron Nesmith (right forearm contusion)
Nesmith is having the best season of his career, and the Warriors are all too familiar with that: he dropped 31 points on them last week.
Out — T.J. McConnell (left hamstring strain)
McConnell has yet to make his season debut, but is expected to be back on the court before too long.
Out — Obi Toppin (right foot stress fracture)
Toppin made it just three games into the season before suffering an injury that will keep him sidelined until at least February. Indy just can’t catch a break.
Out — Johnny Furphy (left ankle sprain)
Furphy has also only played in three games this year, though one of them was against the Warriors. Not today, though.
Out — Quenton Jackson (right hamstring strain)
Jackson is having a career year, and had a career game against the Dubs last week, finishing with 25 points and 10 assists. Golden State will be happy to not see him in this one.
Out — Kam Jones (lower back stress reaction)
Yes, the list of players missing this game is still going on. The Warriors really have no excuse to not win this game.
Questionable — Taelon Peter (right groin soreness)
Hey, finally someone who isn’t for sure out! Peter was taken 54th overall in June’s draft, and has appeared in six games. He’s taken on a bigger role lately, given all the injuries.
Enjoy the contest, everyone! It tips off at 5:30 p.m. PT on NBC Sports Bay Area.
