“Camp Quality brings comfort, happiness and support to children and families facing the unimaginable,” Greenberg said in a release. “I’m grateful our community continues to step up year after year to make the holidays brighter for these young people. Louisville is at its best when we come together to lift one another up.”
Louisville Parks and Recreation said people are encouraged to drop off new, unwrapped toys during operating hours, Monday through Friday from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m.
“This toy drive is one of the most meaningful traditions at Mary T. Meagher Aquatic Center,” said Michelle King, executive director of Louisville Parks and Recreation. “We are incredibly thankful to our swimmers, whose generosity reflects the heart of our mission — giving back and uplifting the community.”
Camp Quality provides free support, programs and experiences to children with cancer and their families.
“We absolutely love the support Louisville Parks and Recreation, and especially the team at Mary T. Meagher Aquatic Center, have shown our Camp Quality kids,” said Nancy Lange of Camp Quality Kentuckiana. “This partnership has been such a gift to our families, and we’re so thankful it continues to grow stronger each year.”
Louisville Parks and Recreation also encouraged participants to take part in the annual “Laps Before Naps” Thanksgiving swim Nov. 27, a fun way to begin the holiday while supporting Camp Quality. By dropping off one new, unwrapped toy for a child age 10 through 15, swimmers can complete a traditional lap swim or challenge themselves with a 2,200-yard serpentine swim.
