Detroit — Daniss Jenkins came into the year as one of the primary two-way prospects who would spend much of the season with the Motor City Cruise. But since the ongoing absence of Marcus Sasser, Jenkins has taken advantage of his opportunities.
On Monday night against the Washington Wizards, Jenkins came up huge off the bench, scoring a career-high 24 points on 9-of-17 shooting, 4-of-6 from behind the arc. With 1.9 seconds left in the fourth quarter, he scored a 3-point field goal that sent the game into overtime, which led to a 137-135 win.
In addition to his scoring, Jenkins added eight rebounds and three assists inside Little Caesars Arena. While winning their seventh consecutive game, the Pistons improved to 9-2 on the season.
Cade Cunningham led the Pistons in scoring with a career-high 46 points, shooting 14-of-45 from the field, and also contributed 12 rebounds and 10 assists. He experienced a minor injury scare with 4:27 remaining in the fourth quarter. While attempting a dunk, Cunningham fell hard on his back amid a block attempt by Cam Whitmore of the Wizards.

CJ McCollum led the Wizards with 42 points on 14-of-24 shooting. Alex Sarr added a double-double of 15 points and 15 rebounds.
