Rushcliffe Mayor invites community to observe Armistice Day with two-minute silence in West Bridgford

The Mayor of Rushcliffe Cllr John Cottee is inviting the community to join him and local dignitaries for a two-minute silence marking Armistice Day on Tuesday 11 November.

All are welcome to attend the Remembrance event on Central Avenue in West Bridgford that starts shortly before 11am with a bugler playing The Last Post on the stroke of the hour and the two minute reflection.

Cllr Cottee said: “Each year, it is vital we honour our Armed Forces and their families, remembering all made the ultimate sacrifice, not only in World Wars 1 and 2 but sadly in more recent conflicts.

“As we approach Armistice Day, I invite everyone to join us for the two minute silence in West Bridgford for this moment of reflection and remembrance for those who have lost their lives as a result of conflict or terrorism.

“All are welcome to attend, please arrive in good time ahead of 11am.”
