Emmerdale’s Robert Sugden gets some devastating news tonight, and it’s a huge setback as he is forced to reflect on his traumatic past. The huge revelation sets up tomorrow’s flashback episode about Robert’s time in prison, and begins to explain what he has been through in recent years…
Robert is currently trying to balance his marriage to former cellmate Kev and his secret relationship with Aaron. He believes that Kev doesn’t have long left to live, but viewers know that Kev has greatly exaggerated his heart condition.

Back in the village after their honeymoon in London, Kev was keen to move in with Robert in today’s episode. Robert was obviously less enthusiastic and reminded him that he needed to speak to his probation officer first.
But Kev had already made contact and got the good news that although he’s still on license, they would make an exception after he and Robert renewed their vows.

Robert later told Aaron about Kev’s big plans and explained that the situation would soon be resolved as Victoria would never agree to the new living arrangements.
He briefed his sister in advance, and when Kev called round, Victoria made it clear that she had to think about Harry and now wasn’t the right time for him to move in.
But Kev surprisingly wasn’t bothered about Victoria’s rejection, as he had some news to deliver to Robert. You’ll have to watch the episode in full to find out what Robert learns, but the truth leaves him completely devastated…

Kev’s news gives Robert a lot to think about and leads him to finally open up to Aaron about what he endured while behind bars.
Tomorrow’s special episode, which takes place over the last five years, will see Robert bravely revisit the darkest chapter in his life, and the physical and emotional torment he suffered in prison – as well as how his relationship with Kev helped him survive.
