Raheem Sterling’s home stormed by thugs as Chelsea star and children in property

Raheem Sterling has been the victim of a home break-in for the second time with his family present in what was described as “the ultimate violation of privacy and safety”

Chelsea and England star Raheem Sterling has been subjected to a horrifying burglary for the second time.

The footballer was at home when his residence was invaded by masked criminals. The incident happened at around 7pm on Saturday, just an hour before Chelsea were due to face Wolverhampton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge. He and his family were present.

Everyone inside the house managed to escape unscathed, while the culprits failed to make off with any valuables. A spokesperson for the former Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal star, quoted in the Mail, said: “We can confirm that Raheem Sterling was the victim of a home break-in this weekend.

“We can also confirm that he and his children were present at home at the time. Whilst the ultimate violation of privacy and safety, we are thankful to be able to confirm that he and his loved ones are all safe.

“We ask that the privacy of Raheem and his loved ones be respected at this challenging time.”

Sterling’s former Cheshire home had previously been targeted and there are suggestions that Premier League stars are now hiring ex-MMA fighters for additional security, reports the Mirror.

A security consultant told The Mail: “I can tell you that one massive club with several players in the Cheshire area has boosted security.

“They have now drafted in a couple of former MMA fighters to bodyguard the players and their families.

“One of the lads does the close protection work while the other is a house sitter. That means he stay in the house when the player is away with the club.

“The gangs tend to pull the big jobs when the players are away in Europe. Both the former MMA fighters are very confident when it comes to physical confrontations and would not back off if something happened.

“They look after the players and their families when they are out on the street when things can happen. If a young players wants to go to nightclub they will take them and make sure nothing happens. These lads have fought at the highest levels and are highly capable.”
