WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The airport director for Central Wisconsin Airport, Brian Grefe, gives his advice on how you should travel for the holidays. When regarding the government shut down, he says to plan like any other year, and that they don’t anticipate any other shutdowns or cancellations.

“Hopefully the importance of travel over the holidays, so congress and the airlines will be able to run at relatively full compacity.” says Grefe.

Grefe also advises travelers to set up electronic communications for your airline via your phone. “Every year seem to do a better job at proactively communicating what’s going on with your flight.”

When you book your ticket you can enter your cellphone information and allow text messages for the carrier, however you can also download the American or Delta airlines app and that will give you information as well.

He also reminds us to keep presents unwrapped until you get to your destination, just incase anything sets off the alarm and security needs to ruin the packaging.
