LIG Nex1 honors Thai veterans of Korean War

In a significant gesture of appreciation, LIG Nex1, a prominent South Korean defense company, recently honored veterans from Thailand who served in the Korean War during a visit to the Thai-Korean War Veterans Association. The visit, led by LIG Group Chairman Koo Bon-sang, took place on a Monday local time in Thailand and included company executives and employees.

The Korean War, which unfolded between 1950 and 1953, saw Thailand commit a substantial military force, contributing 6,326 troops to the conflict. This contribution came at a heavy cost, as 136 Thai soldiers lost their lives, while around 1,200 were wounded during the hostilities. The sacrifices made by these servicemen are commemorated and recognized by LIG Nex1, reflecting the enduring ties between South Korea and Thailand fueled by shared experiences during the war.

LIG Nex1’s visit is also connected to the broader context of participation in the Defense & Security 2025 event in Bangkok, where the company showcased its advancements and technologies in defense. This two-fold commitment to honoring veterans while engaging in defense dialogues emphasizes LIG Nex1’s role in fostering international relationships and commendably acknowledging the valor of those who fought.

The event serves not only as a commemorative occasion but also as a reminder of the historical alliances formed during the Korean War, which continue to influence diplomatic and defense relations between the nations involved.
