Cleveland Guardians skipper Stephen Vogt and Milwaukee Brewers’ Pat Murphy have won the American League and National League Manager of the Year Awards. Both managers win the award for the second straight year, becoming just the third and fourth men in MLB history to do so, following Hall of Famer Bobby Cox (2004-05) and Tampa Bay Rays’ manager Kevin Cash (2020-21).
Vogt led the Guardians as they erased a 15.5-game deficit to win the AL Central with a record of 88-74.
Toronto Blue Jays Manager John Schneider finished second in voting.
Murphy led the Brewers as they won the NL Central title and finished with the best record in baseball at 97-65. They eliminated the division-rival Chicago Cubs in the NLDS, but were swept in the NLCS by the eventual World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Brewers have won the NL Central both seasons with Murphy at the helm and have a combined record of 190-134.
