Firefighters are at the scene of a huge house fire next to a historic cinema in the riverside suburb of Indooroopilly.
Five crews were called to the house – believed to be abandoned – next to the Eldorado cinema on Coonan Street.
When they arrived at 2.20pm, the house was fully engulfed and posed a threat to surrounding buildings, including the cinema.
Emergency services evacuated a Riverside Terrace apartment building behind the blaze, which was contained before 3pm.

It was not known if anyone had been inside the house. Paramedics and police were also in attendance.
Traffic had been blocked off towards the river by a fire truck, according to someone at the scene.
