Five things we learnt from the new Epstein files

“The girl has fled the country with an outstanding arrest warrant,” Epstein wrote to a journalist in July 2011.

“The da [sic] after she accused others, said in writing that she has no credibility, she was never 15 years old working for me, her story made it seem like she first worked for trump [sic] at that age and was met by ghislaine maxwell [sic].”

He added: “Yes she was on my plane, and yes she had her picture taken with Andrew, as many of my employees have.

Andrew has strongly denied all allegations made against him.

3. Michael Wolff’s relationship with Epstein

Michael Wolff, the author, asked Epstein to find out if a contact of his was interested in “bringing down Trump”, according to emails released by the House Oversight Committee.

The messages were sent days after Fire and Fury, Mr Wolff’s first tell-all book about the Trump White House was released in 2018,

In the exchange, Epstein suggested he was waiting for his “marching orders” from the author about what to say in an upcoming meeting with an anonymous contact.

“I didn’t offer him a time yet. As I need my marching orders ;),” Epstein wrote.

Mr Wolff responded: “Just his plan. Trump is going to go down – why doesn’t [he] use this opportunity to strike out on his own?

“Also, gently imply I have tapes. I wonder, btw, if he isn’t interested in talking to you about in fact bringing down Trump. Can’t wait to hear?”

In another email from 2015 Mr Wolff informed Epstein that he heard CNN intended to ask Mr Trump about his relationship with the paedophile.

When Epstein asked how they could respond, Mr Wolff said: “I think you should let him hang himself”, suggesting if Mr Trump denied being on his plane or to his house it would give him “valuable PR and political currency.”
