Ufuk Turganer: Nearly 50,000 students from Turkish regions study at TRNC universities

“Nearly 50,000 students from various regions of the Turkic world are studying at universities in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus,” said Ufuk Turganer, Head of the Representative Office of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) in Baku, at an event dedicated to the 42nd anniversary of the TRNC’s independence, APA reports.

“Since November 11, 2022, the presence of the TRNC under the umbrella of the Organization of Turkic States — a platform uniting brotherhood, common history, and lasting values — has represented an important responsibility for the Turkish Cypriots. Within this framework, our country actively participates in the institutions and events of the Turkic world. The unity and solidarity of the Turkic world are of great importance in the current geopolitical context. As a reflection of our nation’s long-standing educational tradition, it can be noted that nearly 50,000 students from various parts of the Turkic world are currently studying at our universities. This number demonstrates our commitment to the unity and solidarity of the Turkic world, of which we are an inseparable part,” Ufuk Turganer emphasized.
