Mark Wahlberg gives health update on daughter after ‘terrifying’ horseback riding accident

Exclusive ‘Flight Risk’ movie trailer: Mark Wahlberg stars
USA TODAY unveils an exclusive trailer for Mel Gibson’s “Flight Risk,” starring Mark Wahlberg as a bald baddie.
Mark Wahlberg may be “The Fighter,” but he says his daughter is the real trooper.
The Oscar-nominated actor, whose daughter Grace Wahlberg is a competitive horseback rider, shared an update on the teen’s health after she was injured in a recent accident.
“She’s doing great,” Wahlberg, 54, told Access Hollywood in a Wednesday, Nov. 12 interview. “It was terrifying. It’s a very, very dangerous sport, but she’s so passionate about it.”
In a Nov. 2 Instagram post, Grace Wahlberg shared a photo of herself lying in a hospital bed with her arm in a sling. While the 15-year-old didn’t share any details on the accident or her injuries, she wrote: “No pressure, we will be back.”
“All she wanted to do was get back on that horse — no pun intended,” Wahlberg continued. “But [she was] just chomping at the bit and worried that we would deem the sport too dangerous. But she is so passionate, so dedicated.”
The “Flight Risk” star also commended his daughter’s discipline for the equestrian sport, which includes “getting up at 4 o’clock in the morning” and “going to the barn seven days a week.”
Grace Wahlberg is the youngest child of Mark Wahlberg and wife Rhea Durham. The couple also shares three other children: daughter Ella, 22, and sons Michael, 19, and Brendan, 17.
In January, Wahlberg paid tribute to his little girl with a birthday Instagram post, which featured a playful before-and-after video of Grace side-by-side with a childhood photo.
“Happy b day Grace🥳🥰15 !!! Wow that was fast🥰🥳😘,” Wahlberg wrote.
