Gabriel Byrne and Jennifer Zamparelli among guests on this week’s Late Late Show

Actor Gabriel Byrne, presenter Jennifer Zamparelli and comedian Russell Howard will be among the guests on this week’s Late Late Show.

Byrne will be in studio to reflect on his life and career, including a look back at his role in The Usual Suspects 30 years on from the release of the award winning crime thriller.

He will also discuss his love of literature before heading to Co Kerry for the Dingle Literary Festival.

Zamparelli will join host Patrick Kielty to chat about the launch of her new podcast Just Between Us, an Irish Independent podcast on sex and relationships.

Just Between Us, a brand new podcast hosted by Jennifer Zamparelli by the Irish Independent

British comedian Russell Howard will talk about his podcast Five Brilliant Things, his grá for Ireland and how he “finds comedy gold in the chaos of everyday life”.

Carrie Crowley, who recently starred as Mammy Walsh in RTÉ’s The Walsh Sisters, will talk about her return to television presenting after three decades, her passion for the Irish language and the success of An Cailín Ciúin.

Coming off a Premier Division and FAI Cup double – and qualifying for the 2026 World Cup with Cape Verde – Shamrock Rovers captain Pico Lopes will be on the programme to chat about his recent exploits on the pitch.

Lopes will talk about his part in a historic season for the Dublin club and becoming a father in the midst of a successful season.

Irish folk group The High Kings will be providing the night’s musical entertainment, including a rendition of Rocky Road to Dublin.

The Late Late Show airs from 9.35pm on Friday on RTÉ One and the RTÉ Player.
