A series hailed by some as ‘one of the best sci-fi series ever’ has landed on Netflix.
All three seasons of Future Man, originally aired between 2017 and 2020 with over 30 episodes, are now available on the streaming platform.
The series centres around Josh Futturman, a janitor leading a mundane life, spending most of his time playing video games. However, his life takes a dramatic turn when he conquers a game deemed unbeatable by the rest of the world, prompting the appearance of mysterious visitors from the future – Tiger and Wolf, the main characters of the game.
They reveal that the world is in peril and Josh is humanity’s only hope. Tasked with assembling a team, Josh embarks on a journey through time, undertaking various missions to save Earth from alien invaders and secure the future of mankind.
Despite being developed by Hulu, a Disney-owned company, the series was removed from its original platform due to budget cuts. Its arrival on Netflix opens it up to a whole new audience, reports the Mirror.

Josh Hutcherson of Hunger Games fame stars as Josh, alongside Scrubs actress Eliza Coupe and Derek Wilson, known for his roles in The Boys, Birds of Prey and Preacher.
Seth Rogen, serving as an executive producer on the series, also makes a guest appearance in several episodes as Susan Saint Jackalope. He presents The DieCathalon, a death game inspired by The Running Man, which involves hunting people from different time periods for amusement.
The show, described as a mix of bawdy comedy and science fiction, has won over both fans and critics. It holds a commendable 91% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with viewers suggesting it’s one of the best hidden gems that deserves more attention.
The Guardian hailed it as a ” bonkers time-travel series full of smut, toilet humour and sci-fi fun”. One fan even went as far as to say: ” Future Man is one of those Hidden Gems that you’re going to be so proud of that you found out. It’s one of the best sci-fi series ever.”
They weren’t alone in their praise, with another viewer stating: “One of the best hidden gems I’ve discovered after running out of shows to watch. The comedy and references are great. I’ve probably watched it 3 times now and its one of those shows I will probably re-watch.”

A third viewer shared online: “Honestly one of the most underrated shows ever. Has become one of my favourites! ! Man I loved it and especially the first season had me actually laughing out loud every single episode. But the whole show had so much heart and great character development.”
Meanwhile, another viewer enthused: “The best show that seemingly no one (that I know at least) has ever even heard of, let alone watched. All 3 seasons are just so enjoyable and rewatchable, but season 2 is a masterpiece! Will hook you right from episode one! Can’t recommend any higher!”
Future Man is streaming on Netflix.
