Ravindra Jadeja was on fire for India with the ball in the second innings of the ongoing first Test against South Africa at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The 36-year-old all-rounder bowled 13 overs for the Indian team on Day 2 and picked up four wickets for 29 runs. His fourth wicket of the second innings, which came in the form of Tristan Stubbs on Saturday (November 15), helped him take his tally of wickets to 150 in the World Test Championship (WTC).
By completing 150 wickets in the WTC, Jadeja entered his name in the history books. He is the first and only cricketer in the world to dismiss 150 batters and score 1500 runs in the World Test Championship (WTC).
The ongoing India-South Africa Test at Eden Gardens in Kolkata is Jadeja’s 47th WTC match for the Indian team, and he has 150 wickets and 2532 runs to his credit.

A total of four players – Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Pat Cummins and Mark Wood – have scored 1000 runs and dismissed 100 batters in WTC.
Ashwin finished his Test career last year in December by taking 195 wickets and scoring 1142 runs in WTC. Cummins has 215 wickets and 1020 runs to his name in 51 WTC matches, whereas Woakes retired after scoring 1009 runs in 34 WTC matches and taking 110 wickets.
Jadeja is the third Indian bowler after Ashwin and Jasprit Bumrah to take 150 wickets in the WTC. Only seven cricketers so far have managed to dismiss at least 150 batters in the World Test Championship, which kicked off in July 2019.
