Mark Wahlberg’s new movie, Play Dirty, is blowing up on streaming charts on Prime Video, but earlier this year, he teamed up with Mel Gibson for an aviation thriller that just landed a new streaming home. Wahlberg stars alongside Topher Grace (Spider-Man 3) and Michelle Dockery (Downton Abbey) in Flight Risk, the thriller following a pilot who transports an Air Marshal and fugitive to trial, only to come across conflict as they cross the Alaskan wilderness. Flight Risk has been streaming on Starz since its debut earlier this year, but HBO Max has confirmed it will join its library on November 26.

Flight Risk did not resonate with critics, leading it to hold a 29% rating on the aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes. Its rating on the audience-driven Popcornmeter more than doubled this, scoring 62%, which still isn’t anything to write home about. The film also grossed $48 million at the box office against a $25 million budget. While it didn’t earn enough to be considered a massive box office success, it did avoid becoming a flop for Lionsgate as well. Fun fact: Mark Wahlberg actually shaved his head for his role in Flight Risk, declining to use a bald cap as he felt it would be unconvincing.

Flight Risk is far from the first time that Mel Gibson and Mark Wahlberg have worked on a movie together. The duo is famous for their comedic roles in the Daddy’s Home franchise, and they later teamed up for a more serious venture in Father Stu. Gibson is busy right now working on his next two Passion of the Christ movies, so it may be a while before any big reunion with Mark Wahlberg. He is attached to star in a few movies, like The Canyon, which will likely premiere next year.

When Does Mark Wahlberg’s Next Movie Come Out?

Mark Wahlberg’s next movie comes out sooner than you realize. Wahlberg will reprise his role as Dan Morgan in The Family Plan 2, which will begin streaming on Apple TV on November 21. The film will not be released in theaters. Game of Thrones veteran Kit Harington has even joined the cast of Season 2. The White Lotus star Michelle Monaghan will also reprise her role as Jessica Morgan in The Family Plan 2.

Be sure to watch Flight Risk on HBO Max starting November 26 and stay tuned to Collider for more streaming updates.
