Yule fulfils childhood dream by securing DP World Tour status

Lynn golfer Jack Yule has now achieved the biggest milestone of his career by earning playing privileges on the DP World Tour.
Yule, 31, produced a sensational final push at the gruelling Qualifying School in Spain to finish inside the top 20.
He put together a superb six-round total of 19-under-par at the Final Stage at Infinitum Golf, finishing tied 12th to secure his place among Europe’s elite for next season.

Reflecting on his achievement, Yule said: “I’ve had some low points in the last few years and during the harder times, you think, ‘Am I doing the right thing?’ or ‘do I need to get a job?’ but this makes everything so worthwhile.
“It means so much getting to this point and it’s a route I’ve always tried. I’m going to give it a real go and will give it my all because you never know whether I will get another opportunity like this again.”
The King’s Lynn Golf Club member was one of four players, alongside Eddie Pepperell, Hunter Logan and Mike Toorop, who began the decisive final round outside the top 20 but charged into the qualification spots with an inspired final-day performance.

“I had a phone call with my psychologist the night before the final round and he told me to stay in the present and that’s what I focused on,” he admitted.
“I was on the phone with my dad after my final round and I teared up as I felt exhausted and it was just the emotion of it all.
“It was tough. When you take into consideration I had two practice rounds the two days beforehand, I’ve played eight rounds in as many days.”
Over six marathon rounds on the Lakes and Hills Courses, Yule showed remarkable consistency and resilience, shooting rounds of 68, 74, 66, 69, 67, and 65.

His second round included a two-shot penalty on the first tee for carrying extra clubs in his bag.
“I did something very stupid, but I was so focused and eager to play,” he admitted afterwards.
But he put that setback firmly behind him and stood tall when it mattered most.
His closing round of six-under-par 65 on the Lakes Course sealed the deal, featuring a flawless back nine with birdies at the 10th, 11th, 14th, and 18th holes to cap a dream week in Tarragona.
Q School is the ultimate test of nerve and stamina: a 156-man field reduced after four rounds before the top 60 and ties battle through two final days on the Lakes Course for just 20 precious tour cards.
While the West Norfolk ace was coming to terms with his incredible achievement, others endured heartbreak.
Frenchman Alexander Levy and Scotland’s Marc Warren, both seasoned DP World Tour winners, agonisingly missed out.
There was also Ryder Cup experience in the field with Oliver Wilson and Chris Wood, but both players finished outside the top 60 as Yule fulfilled a childhood dream.
“It is a gamble at the end of the day and I knew that it would be a strong field,” he admitted.
“People try to chase and force it at times, but I knew I was there or thereabouts. I tried not to look at the leaderboard and tried to give every shot my best.”
Yule’s first job after finishing in the top 20 was to apply for a Visa so he can compete in the BMW Australian Championship later this month.
“I was due to play in two Pro-Ams in Turkey, but I’ve had to phone up and cancel,” he revealed.
Yule’s professional dream began eight years ago, following a decorated spell as an amateur.
His golfing talent has never been in doubt.
He landed the 2017 County Amateur Championship title at Royal West Norfolk Golf Club and was also crowned Norfolk Open Champion and Henry Craske Salver winner.
This came on the back of his 2016 triumph in the Biarritz Cup in France while representing England, whom he has also represented in several Home Internationals.
A year earlier, Yule had been leading boy in the 19th Faldo Series, his success there earning him an invitation to compete in the Made in Denmark event on the European Tour just a week before the 2016 Ryder Cup.
As he prepares to tee it up against Europe’s finest in 2025, his remarkable journey stands as an inspiring example of what can be achieved through patience, talent, and unshakeable determination.
