After a quick check, Gill walked off the field, retired hurt, with Rishabh Pant replacing him in the middle. He did not come back to bat through the entirety of India’s first innings which ended over the course of the next session and a half at 189/9 – with a lead of 30 runs. The BCCI stated that his participation today (Saturday) will also be monitored by the medical staff.
