Bono doppelgänger turns heads at opening of new south Dublin Domino’s

‘Bono’ spotted as Domino’s opens new store
South Dubliners did a double-take on Monday as rock legend ‘Bono’ flew in for the opening of a new Domino’s store in Ballybrack.
But fans didn’t find what they were looking for – because it wasn’t actually the U2 frontman at all, but world-renowned Bono doppelgänger Pavel Sfera, who flew in especially from Los Angeles.
The look-alike superstar spent the day belting out U2 classics, posing for selfies, and handing out free pizza slices to commuters at Killiney Dart Station – not far from the real Bono’s Killiney home.
“If Domino’s can’t get the real Bono, we’ll happily take the next best thing,” quipped Eoin Corrigan, Head of Marketing at Domino’s. “Pavel had everyone singing, smiling and grabbing a free slice. It’s definitely a Beautiful Day to open in Ballybrack.”
Pavel Sfera, who has performed as Bono all over the world, said: “Any day you get to sing U2 tunes and give people pizza is a Monday Bloody Monday well spent. And I’m honoured to welcome Domino’s to Bono’s backyard, even if I’m only the tribute act!”
The new Ballybrack store opened today (Dec 15th) at noon and to celebrate, Domino’s is offering hungry customers any size pizza for €13.99 (collection only. Order online, from the Domino’s app, and instore). The offer will run from the 15th of December until the 4th of January.
