MGK Kicks Off Lost Americana Tour Celebrating Fifth Anniversary of “Tickets to My Downfall”

Machine Gun Kelly, affectionately known as MGK, recently captivated fans during an intimate concert in Milwaukee, where he performed for an enthusiastic crowd of just 300 people at a free show on August 13. This event commemorated the release of his latest album, “Lost Americana,” while also marking the kickoff of his Lost Americana Tour, which celebrates the fifth anniversary of his transformative album, “Tickets to My Downfall.”

The tour commenced at the Vans Warped Tour in Orlando, Florida, on November 15, drawing significant attention as MGK embraced his evolving identity within the music industry. He has been referring to himself as the Artist Formerly Known as Machine Gun Kelly, reflecting his shift from a rapper to a rock star—a journey solidified by the historical success of “Tickets to My Downfall,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts in 2020. This pivotal album featured multiplatinum hits “Bloody Valentine” and “My Ex’s Best Friend,” showcasing MGK’s ability to bridge genres and attract diverse audiences.

During the tour’s inaugural show, MGK delivered a dynamic setlist that included popular tracks such as “bloody valentine” and “my ex’s best friend,” but he decided not to perform the album in its entirety, potentially due to the festival environment at Warped Tour. As fans eagerly documented the experience online, the full setlist revealed a blend of new material and fan favorites, including “title track,” “kiss kiss,” “maybe,” and a shortened version of “Starman.”

Other standout moments of the concert included MGK’s collaboration with Mod Sun on “bloody valentine,” a cover of the Goo Goo Dolls’ “Iris,” featuring Julia Wolf, and a touching moment when he dedicated “papercuts” to Luke “The Dingo” Trembath. The presence of MGK’s daughter during a performance of “forget me too,” where she sang Halsey’s part, added a personal touch that resonated with the intimate crowd.
