NFL Week 11 Inactives: Who’s in, who’s out

The following players will not suit up for the Week 11 matchup between the Giants and Packers at MetLife Stadium:

  • QB Jaxson Dart
  • DL Chauncey Golston
  • T James Hudson III
  • S Tyler Nubin
  • DL Rakeem Nuñez-Roches Sr.
  • WR Darius Slayton
  • OLB Kayvon Thibodeaux
  • WR Malik Heath
  • CB Nate Hobbs
  • G Donovan Jennings
  • K Brandon McManus
  • DE Lukas Van Ness

Quarterback Jameis Winston will make his Giants debut with Jaxson Dart in the concussion protocol. Russell Wilson will be the backup.

Mike Kafka made the announcement before Wednesday’s practice in his first press conference since being named interim head coach. Dart suffered a concussion during last Sunday’s 24-20 loss to the Bears.

“I have a lot of confidence in Jameis, have a lot of confidence in Russ, and he’ll be the backup as Jaxson works through the concussion protocol,” Kafka said. “I think our players are pros. They’re pros. So, my job is to get them in the best position to be successful and work through the week here and continue to make adjustments with the staff as we’re going to continue to prepare for Green Bay, which is the most important thing. So really taking our time, making sure we cross our T’s, dot our I’s, put together a great plan for the players because that’s really, at the end of the day, those are the guys that have been on my mind the last 48 hours.”

Kafka also announced that tight ends coach Tim Kelly will serve as offensive coordinator.

Kafka, who was the assistant head coach/offensive coordinator before Brian Daboll was relieved of his duties on Monday, will continue to call plays.

The Giants ruled out five players on the final injury report of the week: Dart (concussion), defensive lineman Chauncey Golston (neck), guard Evan Neal (hamstring), wide receiver Darius Slayton (hamstring), and outside linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux (shoulder). Safety Tyler Nubin (neck) and defensive lineman Rakeem Nuñez-Roches Sr. (toe) were doubtful. Cornerback Paulson Adebo (knee) and linebacker Bobby Okereke (shoulder) were listed as questionable.

On Saturday, the Giants elevated wide receiver Dalen Cambre and Elijah Chatman from the practice squad for Sunday’s game. Kicker Younghoe Koo was signed to the active roster from the practice squad, and Neal was placed on injured reserve. The Falcons also signed practice squad defensive lineman Elijah Garcia to their active roster.

For the Packers, kicker Brandon McManus (right quad) was added to the injury report on Saturday and listed as doubtful. Wide receiver Malik Heath (coach’s decision) did not travel with the team. Cornerback Nate Hobbs (knee) was also ruled out, while defensive lineman Lukas Van Ness (foot) and wide receivers Matthew Golden (shoulder) and Savion Williams (foot) were questionable.
